Again we had a cold and sunny day. This day required us to do a lot
of detailed work. To the right, Stan Wagon is polishing the top of the
sculpture, and below the happy team is posing in front of the almost
finished work.
We also had a small soap bubble demonstration: Our scuplture, White Narcissus,
was designed by team member Robert Longhurst, and is related to saddle-like
shapes (minimal surfaces) that are formed by soap film when wire frame is
dipped into soapy water.
In the picture below, the frozen soap film forms part of a well-known
surface, discovered in the 19th century.
