Old Man of the Mountains (Hymenoxis grandiflora)

These large sunflowers, which always face east, are ubiquitous in alpine terrain. These are from McCullough Gulch.

And these high in Sacramento Gulch.

These below are on the slopes high on the north side of Independence Pass, looking west toward Snowmass and Aspen.
