Elephant Head, rare white variation (Pedicularis groenlandica)

I have only once seen a white elephant head like this. So has Nancy Weidman, who provided this photo. One does often see ones that are only slightly pink, but a true white one is very rare. And below is a shot by Joanne Hanson, who saw one in summer of 2019.

And finally I found a nice batch, off the  Royal Buffalo Trail, not far from my house! This after 20 years of looking for them! July 19, 2020.

And in July 2022 Matt Wentz and Katie Kreisel spotted a two-toned elephant head that is very striking. This is in Brown Gulch off Tiger Road in Breckenridge.
