Goat Encounter on Peak C, Gore Range, Colorado

Elke Dratch and I encountered two goats at one of the saddles on the rocky west ridge of Peak C. One was a year or more older than the other. Here is the elder one checking us out.

It is remarkable that on August 26 (2011) they are still shedding their winter coat.

This is younger of the two, who was not really charging me, though it looks that way.

And the younger one again: look at the size of the hooves.
