Snow buttercup (Ranunculus adoneus)
Loveland Pass, July 1, 2017. Normal lens.
In snow near Loveland Pass, July 1, 2015. These next two are with a 100 mm macro lens.
From just below summit of Mt Massive on east ridge on July 5, 2010. Very elegant opening. I do not recall ever seeing these before; apparently they come out even through the snow. They are the largest buttercups found in this area.
Then I went on a search and found fields of them near the snow and damp spots on the west side of the saddle just south of Argentine Peak, Juy 10, 2010.
And here is one near Mt Evans W of Alma (Sacramento Gulch) coming out through the snow.
