Elephant head, rare white variation (Pedicularis groenlandica)

I have only once seen a white elephant head like this. So has Nancy Weidman, who provided this photo. One does often see ones that are only slightly pink, but a true white one is very rare. And below is a shot by Joanne Hanson, who saw one in summer of 2019.

And in July 2022 Matt Wentz and Katie Kreisel spotted a two-toned elephant head that is very striking. This is in Brown Gulch off Tiger Road in Breckenridge.
