Covert and La Boca Arches

The first view of the arch is via this easy ledge, which leads right to it. This shot is a panorama of several images.

On the north side is a small alcove which yields an interesting photo that makes the arch appear to be a double arch.

Below is a panorama from the north side. The aforementioned alcove is just left of the arch.

Mike Johnson and I descended a steep gully to the canyon bottom. All was easy class 3.

This is a view of our descent gully from the canyon bottom.

We explored a little side canyon upstream for about 20 minutes (and then downstream to where we could view Covert Arch from the canyon); Mike Johnson ascending a small cliff.

La Boca Arch with the snow-covered La Sal Mountains behind. One can get here from the Dewey Bridge area, but I think that is for ATVs or high-clearance jeeps. The drive from I-70 was quite simple.
