Separation Canyon, Nippletop, Checkerboard Canyon
We started with a nice loop at the east end of Zion National Park. It was hotter than usual, which sapped some strength as the hike progressed. The climb to Nippletop, not far from the start in Separation Canyon, was steep (class 3 in a couple spots) but rewarding. On the back let we saw a bighorn sheep. Finishing up the hike there were some beautiful red maples in the depths of Checkerboard Canyon.
