Many Domes

Our day hike took us to an area that was the original objective of the whole trip, and it worked out very well as Herb knew about a route along the tops of the domes that he and Jack Dais pioneered fifteen years ago. So six of us climbed along this improbable route — improbable because the domes were steep and the route looked doubtful at times! There was one exposed move near the start, but the rest went well. The first shot shows Elke near the start of the ridge. The second shows her at one of the several little steep sections. The rest show the spectacular multi-colored Navajo sandstone terrain. See also the "Looking Back" picture for the distant view of this area from across the Escalante.
