Skiing Red Buffalo Pass (Bob Portmann, January; Katie Larson, June)

Bob Portmann skiing the east side of the slope just south of Red Buffalo Pass. On a day where everything else was baked (mid-Jan 2000), this slope offered perfect powder. Easiest access is via Meadow Creek and through Eccles Pass. We made a loop, exiting down into South Willow Creek and Mesa Cortina (my house). Peak in rear is Red Peak, and the prominent gully at center provide a good ski run in the spring.

This area provides skiing in June as well, as the following photo shows. On this day, June 13, 2006, Katie Larson and I wanted to ski Big Bad Wolf but it was too mushy and so we skied the face in the background and then the summer-like snow from the area of the pass.
