North Star, Butterknife
On June 7, 2011, I soloed this line, which I had seen so many times on my forays into the South Platte headwaters. I climbed from the bottom, which was a bit tedious over the rocks as it seemed to take forever to reach the summit ridge. Most parties do this by starting at Hoosier Pass, having left a car at Montgomery Reservoir. I was able to ski all the way down to the valley bottom, a vertical drop of 2000 feet. The line is bigger than it looks from the approach.
And again ten years later, April 5, 2021, with Elke Dratch and Matt Wentz. Used car shuttle this time. Good corn on descent.
